HILDA HIARY: ORGANIC ELEGANCE IN UNORTHODOX ESTHETIC EXPRESSION

Hiary’s work is an assembly of organized thoughts and esthetic discipline. It has undetermined dimensions which free time and space. If you can define time, you will find it in her forms. If you succeed in capturing your thoughts and in grabbing them like a rosary in your hand, you will feel Hiary’s honest emotional expressions. I was so curious to learn what the art critics in her part of the world wrote about her art. Surprisingly, one of them described her art as innocent red, white and blue entities of chaos and discipline vibrating in unison. Quite an accurate description. The chaos of her artistic micro cosmos echoes emotional perplexity. The constructional discipline of her forms reflects a deep understanding of what unites an idea and a shape and what attaches a feeling to an illustration. Hiary is an intelligent artist. No doubt, Hiary is a leading figure in the artistic Arab world. She is unique. Dominantly different from any other artist  I met or have studied in the past. Upon looking at her canvas, the observer would -most certainly- express a vivid interest in conversing with her, or getting to know her. And Hilda would have to answer one thousand questions. And the elegance appears all of a sudden in this painting (the one below). This is my favorite, for it has the enigma, the sparkling eloquent silence, the finesse and plenty of space to breath and metamorphose. It is not the amount of work you put in you canvas that defines and characterizes your artistic wealth and rich imagination but, the pure and elegant simplicity for as the French say:

 

”Simplicite fait beaute”, meaning simplicity is beauty. And this simplicity is what cemented the intelligent artistic beauty in minimalism. This elegant is evident in this delightful piece. Hilda Hiary is a splendid, creative and a visionary artist. She made her mark and caused her seal on the landscape of art. I wish her all the best. Her talent has been recognized.
